I haven't changed the model but I experimented with FinalRender and the results are shown below.
The funny thing is that I turned [B]out[/B] GI because I was quite unhappy about the shaddows FinalRender created. I kept the HDRI background and the skylight on and the result surprised me...especially the very short rendering time.

Specs about the model...

Technique: SubD (Iteration 2)
Polycount: 1.2 million
Renderer: FinalRender Stage 1 Sp2
Rendertime: less than 40 minutes

I like the robot, but the render is a bit dark. Push the hdri a little bit more. Did it render 40 min for this resolution or is the original bigger? You are the PRO!

Looks so real, an excellent render. Maybe one day we'll have robots like this, and if I'm still around, I'd like one, they're cool looking.

Great render. I do prefer it over your previous... because the surface looks more realistic... and touchable.
